Timeless Styles for a Modern Studio Session
I'm thrilled to share more images from my recent shoot with the fabulous Brigitte. We extended her Femme Fatale shoot into more of a Supreme Session. Each look she brought to life was an embodiment of her creativity and personal sense of style.
Today, I'm sharing her insanely cool and quite playful inspirations behind each outfit.
Take notes to style a session of your own!
1. Little Lost Lady in the City of Light 🏍️
Our first look took inspiration from a spirited traveler lost in the urban labyrinth. Brigitte's lightly-lined eyes and oversized shirt paired perfectly with short shorts and motorcycle boots. The looks and poses brought an edgy yet vulnerable vibe to the photos. This look was all about capturing the essence of a sweet wanderer with a hint of rebellion.
2. La Bella Italiana 🍋
Next, we embraced the timeless allure of Italian elegance. Brigitte channeled her inner Monica Bellucci in a chic black dress, also reminiscent of Sylvia in 'La Dolce Vita' when she took her shoes off to dance.
Adding a more passionate twist to La Bella Italiana, she donned a seductive red outfit, capturing the passion and intensity of Italian beauty. The Mediterranean warmth radiated through every frame, making it one of my favorite looks.
3. La Bébé d’aujourd’hui 💕
We then transported ourselves to the swinging sixties with a modern twist. Reminiscent of a few Brigitte Bardot photos or even Twiggy, this look featured a striped dress, gamine shoes, and monochrome elements. Brigitte was the epitome of contemporary retro chic in this set.
4. And Then There Was Gilda 🍸
Our final act was a tribute to the Film Noir era that I shared many of the photos from in the Femme Fatale posts, Part 1 and Part 2.
Brigitte transformed into a dramatic, black-and-white goddess, reminiscent of Rita Hayworth as Gilda. With a long dress, gloves, fringed lace scarf, and the allure of a vintage movie poster, she embodied the classic femme fatale.
Getting her moving more and even singing along to a favorite French song helped to capture her enigmatic presence.
The Soundtrack to Our Session
To set the mood for each look, we listened to Brigitte’s carefully curated playlist, which you can check out here. Her taste in music resonated with mine, adding another layer of connection to our already fun shoot. For a glimpse into my studio vibe, here's my typical studio sessions playlist.
A Supreme Experience
Typically, my 2024 Femme Fatale shoots are 1 hour long with 2 wardrobe changes. 2025 Femme Fatale Sessions will be 30 minutes with 1 wardrobe change.
For Brigitte’s session, I opted for a longer shoot to better feel the flow in my new studio space. I’m so happy we went longer because it allowed for more magic to happen!
This kind of extended shoot is perfect for anyone who needs everyday portraits, those needing fresh content, anyone looking to build or update their model portfolio (test shoot), or anyone who just wants to step out of their comfort zone and play!
