Personal Branding Meets Big City Magic

When my dear friend Achsha and I were planning her trip to visit me in New York City, the idea of doing a photo shoot gently surfaced in our conversations. Not a full-blown plan, just a maybe that would be amazing for her while in the big city. And so we made it happen.

She’s a real estate professional based in California and needed updated headshots and personal branding images - but what unfolded in our studio session was so much more than just that.

Over the course of about two and a half hours, we played with wardrobe changes, lighting, and energy, creating a body of work that was equal parts powerful, professional, and deeply personal. What started as a branding shoot gently evolved into something more intimate and expressive.

Because sometimes…you come in for headshots and realize you also need to celebrate the body you’re currently in.
To feel a little sexy.
To reclaim something that maybe got quiet for a while.

So we went there - with intention, with care, and with full permission to show up.
Achsha slipped into a soft sweater for a playful striptease sweater series, and we captured a few shots in a simple bra and panty set. They’re tasteful, beautifully lit, and still carry that flicker of fire that reminds you - you still got it, baby.

What made this session even more meaningful is that Achsha is someone who lives for travel. Being in a new city stirs something in her. So to mark this trip with a portrait session felt like the perfect souvenir: a celebration of where she is right now - in life, in mindset, in her body - and the energy she found while swept up in NYC.

We didn’t shoot on the street that day (though I did capture a few spontaneous portraits later while showing her around the city). This was a studio shoot: intentional, empowering, expressive. I watched her come ALIVE in front of my camera! And though I usually lean toward black-and-white imagery, her vibrant tattoos, hair, and spirit pulled me into full color. She’ll get both versions, of course, but for this blog - color wins.

And maybe that’s the takeaway here - you don’t always know exactly what you’ll leave with when you book a photo shoot with me. Sometimes you come for the headshot and leave with a moment of personal liberation. Sometimes it’s a creative awakening. A new layer of confidence. Or a reminder that you’re not finished becoming.

If you’re craving a reset, a reminder, or a reconnection to the woman you are right now - let’s make it happen. No excuse needed. Just come as you are, and let’s create something you’ll cherish.

Without further ado, I present to you….Achsha….

Happy birthday, Achsha!!!!!
