Define femme fatale in your own terms:
When I think of a femme fatale, I picture a woman who's got this air of mystery and allure about her, you know? She's usually drop-dead gorgeous, oozing sexiness without even trying. But it's more than just looks—it's like she's got this power, this confidence that says she's in control. She might use her charm and sexuality to get what she wants, but she's never one to be played. She's like a boss lady, fierce and independent, making her own rules in a world that tries to box her in.
Can you share a bit about your journey to embracing your own inner femme fatale?
You know, my journey to embracing my inner femme fatale has been quite the ride. Winning that spokesmodel challenge for Stacie was just the beginning. After losing my mom, I had to dig deep and confront a lot of doubts—about my body, my confidence, what sexy even meant to me. I used to think boudoir was all about wearing fancy lingerie, but I learned it's more about how you feel, not what you wear. It took me a while to accept my body and truly feel strong and sexy. Sure, I adore vintage clothing, lace, satin—all of it—but until I embraced myself, I didn't feel truly confident. But let me tell you, once I did, it was like a switch flipped. I felt unstoppable, like I could conquer the world. And that's what being a femme fatale means to me—it's not about how much weight you can lift or how flawless you look; it's about owning your strength and power from within. Sadly, embracing our femme fatale is an ongoing journey, evolving with every chapter of our lives. Stacie, you helped me find my inner femme fatale, my strength, my superpower years ago, and I'll forever be grateful for that feeling.
Please recommend a few favorite New York City spots with sexy-to-you vibes that brings out your inner femme fatale?
Oh, Brooklyn holds a special place in my heart—the bodegas, the bustling sidewalks, the hidden gems like Beacon's Closet thrift store—my fav! I've found myself wandering the streets of Brooklyn more times than I can count in the past year, soaking in its energy. It feels like a second home to me. There's nothing that beats strolling across the Brooklyn Bridge at sunset—the skyline, the sound of traffic—it's so sexy. And catching a Broadway show? It always evokes so much emotion from me!
Can you share a moment or achievement in your life that fills you with pride and a sense of accomplishment as a woman?
Oh, where do I even start? There are a few moments that really stand out for me. First off, there's my journey into bodybuilding—seeing the transformation in my body was like watching a masterpiece unfold. Then, there's the incredible journey of pregnancy, staying active and creating this beautiful little boy who fills my heart with so much joy. But you know what really gets me? It's hearing from all the amazing women and men who reach out to me, sharing how my journey has inspired them. Knowing that I've made even a small impact in someone else's life fills me with an indescribable sense of pride and accomplishment as a woman.
Is there a song, album or musical genre that is sure to make you feel seductive?
Enigma, from the good ole days, still does it for me—the vibes are just so seductive, you know? And when it comes to getting in the mood, R&B is where it's at for me. Give me some Chris Brown and I'm feeling all kinds of sultry.
Favorite products, brands or services you’re currently loving to pamper yourself with?

What makes you feel sexy?
Slipping into a killer blazer, letting my hair down, and cranking up the tunes for a little dance session. There's just something about that combination that brings out my inner vixen.
What role does authenticity play in your expression of self through your style? How did you cultivate that individuality?
Authenticity is everything when it comes to my style. Growing up, we didn't have much, so I had to get creative. Sure, being teased for my quirks stung at first, but it pushed me to embrace what made me different. That's where the thrift store became my sanctuary—it's a place where labels and sizes don't matter, where you can truly let your individuality shine. It's about breaking free from society's expectations and owning your unique style with confidence.
How do you celebrate and embrace your femininity in a world that often undermines or commodifies it?
Even in a sea of basic suits at the workplace, I make sure my style reflects who I am—bright, colorful, and uniquely me—but still professional.
Share a film, show, scene, or literary work that you find particularly sensual or erotic.
That bath scene in "City of Angels" always got me, you know? Back in college, I used to watch it and dream about feeling that kind of intensity. And the song by Paula Cole that accompanies it? Pure magic. It's like the ultimate blend of sensuality and longing—a scene that just sticks with you.
How do you prioritize self-care in your daily routine, and what practices or rituals do you engage in to nurture your physical, emotional, and mental well-being as a woman?
It's a work in process, scheduling self care is just like scheduling a doctors appointment. Show up on time every time.
I love waking up and drinking lemon water, green juice, &/or a turmeric shot.
I always make sure to sit in the morning and I meditate for 3 to 5 min. Not long but it helps me start my day.
Working out is self care for me. I was unable to workout this last year and it really pained me so I had to start new rituals.
I love making self care a part of my day and brining my family into it. Walking while my son rides his bike is a good example. Or thrifting with my BFF weekly—it’s like a spa day for my soul. We laugh, we cry, we get high from hunting for amazing vintage pieces. Family dinner every Friday is incredibly important to me. It nurtures my emotional growth.
Self care is work. Sometimes it is hard but it is necessary.
In a society that often imposes limitations and stereotypes on aging women, how do you believe women can break free from these confines and embrace the process of aging with grace and authenticity?
It might sound silly, but embracing your personal style can work wonders. When you feel confident in your skin, you radiate joy and power—and age becomes just a number. I've noticed that when women embrace their unique style, their confidence shines through. So, keep fighting to be your authentic self, and let your style be your statement—it's a powerful way to break free from society's limitations and age gracefully on your own terms.
How do you handle moments of self-doubt or insecurity in your journey towards self-discovery and empowerment?
I grab my journal and starting writing down all of the things I promised myself I would do...sometimes we need a reminder. And remember, when we are insecure it means that we are not working on ourself. No one knows your journey or your story remember that!
What advice would you give to women who are on a journey to discovering their own sense of confidence and individuality?
LET GO OF WHAT YOU THOUGHT YOU WOULD BE, AND ALLOW WHO YOU ARE TO TAKE ITS PLACE!
Can you share a significant lesson you’ve learned through the struggles you’ve faced as a woman, and how did you overcome those challenges to emerge stronger and more empowered?
Getting so caught up in comparing yourself to everyone will literally take you down a path that will never fulfill you. You must go back to what you feel is right and what is truly your passion and DO IT. NO MATTER WHAT ANYONE SAYS.
How do you envision your legacy as a woman, and what impact would you hope to leave on future generations of women?
Allow for change and embrace who you are today knowing that tomorrow may be different. I hope that women can use my journey to see that it's never too late to go after your dreams, goals, and if you fall…and fail, you can get back up and try AGAIN!
About Shana:
I’m a proud first-generation American, living in Las Vegas, who found my footing in ballet the first 18 years of my life and lost myself in the melodies of the viola around then, too.
Losing my mom in my twenties was a heavy blow that showed me just how fragile life can be, but it pushed me towards bodybuilding, which helped to give me strength.
Becoming the spokesmodel of Stacie Frazier's Haute Shots was like stumbling upon a life raft in a stormy sea. It truly saved me & inspired me during a time I had fallen apart! It gave me confidence and it was so much fun being creative together with our many photoshoots and excursions!
By day, I'm crunching numbers as an Employee Broker, but my heart's always yearning for something more.
Inheriting a pile of vintage threads was the spark that lit the fire of Thrifters Anonymous, where my partner-in-crime, Edwina, and I encourage folks to embrace their quirks and shout, 'This is me!' from the rooftops.
You might've caught me rummaging through junk on Storage Wars, sharing my love for all things oddball.
And now, CEO & vintage hoarder of an e-commerce store called www.ThrowItIntheCart.com ! A mix of vintage, upcycled, and sustainable fashion along with our own line of clothing that Edwina and I designed!
Married for over 16 years to a guy who's the real rock star in our duo, we recently dipped our toes into the world of filmmaking, him producing his first flick in the heart of Vegas. And amidst it all, I'm learning to embrace the chaos of motherhood to a pint-sized dynamo.
Navigating the whirlwind of IVF, I'm slowly learning to appreciate the resilience of this ol' body of mine.
You can find snippets of my journey on Instagram @Shanaemily_ and @Taaapproved, along with our antics on our YouTube channel, Thrifters Anonymous.
XOXO, Shana
